Description |
The print is a stylized, multi-colored depiction of the old amusement park on the Long Beach Pier. The print is framed in a black wood frame 20-1/2"h x 25"w. Inscribed in the lower right corner: "To the Boys and Girls at Mt. Washington - Leo Politi". It depicts The Pike, an amusement park and arcade located along the shoreline of Long Beach, California, which operated from 1902 until its closure and demolition in 1979. The major attraction featured rides like the Cyclone Racer roller coaster and a grand bath house called The Plunge. Politi donated many pieces to LAUSD schools and it is assumed this is a gift from the artist. Description Modified: 10/6/2020 |
