The object is a certificate "City of Los Angeles/Fifteenth Councilmanic District/Certificate of Commendation/for/Outstanding Community Service/by/San Pedro Men Boosters". It measures 16" x 10-1/2" (sight) in dark brown frame measuring 16" x 12-1/2". Signature LRC "John S. Gibson, Councilman of the 15th District" in black ink. There is a gold seal of the "City of Los Angeles, Founded 1781" in LLC with green, yellow, and red stripes. At the top center, there is a little design of the City Hall Building with the words "City of Los Angeles" going across and below it is the City of Los Angeles logo. Undated, Circa 1951–1981 when Gibson was in office. The San Pedro Pirate Boosters are a support group for San Pedro High School (SPHS) students and the community. The group's mission is to promote and support the school's academics, athletics, and other extracurricular activities.
