Description |
The print/photo reproduction(?) is a multi-colored abstract depiction of the old amusement park at the Long Beach Pier. The print is framed in a silver metal frame measuring 25 x 20 inches. Inscription: "To the Boys & Girls of Denker School - Leo Politi 1967" is written in the lower left corner. It depicts The Pike, an amusement park and arcade located along the shoreline of Long Beach, California, which operated from 1902 until its closure and demolition in 1979. The major attraction featured rides like the Cyclone Racer roller coaster and a grand bath house called The Plunge. Politi donated many pieces to LAUSD schools and it is assumed this is a gift from the artist. |
