The group of objects are all related to the USS Nimitz. There is a silver plate with the engraving "USS Nimitz CVAN-68 Launched May 13, 1972". There is a newpaper article from The Times-Herald of May 13, 1972, with the headline "Carrier Nimitz Christened". There is a commemorative booklet from the christening in 1972 with biographical information about C.W. Nimitz. Finally, there are seven photographs of Chester Nimitz and the USS Nimitz.
