Description |
The painting is a portrait of a young girl, the artist estranged wife, Audrey Marye, wearing a brown coat and holding a feathered hat seen in a profile view. It is framed in a gilded frame measuring 44 x 59 X 3 inches. Was donated soon after it was included in an exhibition at the Los Angeles Museum of works by So. Ca. artists on the Public Works of Art Project. In 1930, Will Foster was voted an Associate of the National Academy of Design in New York as recognition for Girl in Brown.
