Description |
The drawing on yellow construction paper, measuring 17 ½" x 13", contains two drawings of two different San Pedro High School areas. In the upper corner of the paper is a drawing of what seems to be outside, close to a building that shows two stairs, lawns, and gardens. There’s a fence on the upper level that has seats and rails. On the lower side of the paper, there’s a drawing of two people hopping the fence to the lawn. On the left side, there are rails and on the right side, there’s a drawing of a column of plants and a girl sitting on the seats next to the rails, and below the drawing, it says "East - Bottom of Patio / No Scale." 1903: San Pedro High School Established San Pedro High School did not have its own building when it was established SPHS originated on the 2nd floor of the Sixteenth Street School (now Fifteenth Street School) 1906: The high school was relocated to its own high school building at 1221 South Gaffey St 1909: Annexed into Los Angeles City Schools 1933: The Long Beach earthquake damaged the Gaffey Street high school 1933: A new new high school was built at the current SPHS site, 1001 w. 15th Street San Pedro High School mascot is the Pirate |
