Description |
The painting depicts a wide river with a snowcapped mountain range arises in the distance across the water. A boat is sailing from one bank to another. Fishermen work from small boats near the far shoreline, casting their nets by hand. This method is known as Danish seining, as the technique has its origins in Denmark. It is framed in a carved and gilded frame measuring 49" x 34-1/2" x 2" inches. Student Body Owned per OGC, 12/22/08; Presented to Gardena High School from the Winter Class of 1945.
